Why Can’t I Open a Received Fax? (Out of Credits)

If you see an “Out of Credit” status in your fax list, it means your account did not have enough credits at the time the fax was sent to you. As a result, the fax could not be received or delivered to your inbox.

How Many Credits Do I Need?

  • Generally, receiving one fax page requires 1 credit.
  • Some faxes (with special formats or international numbers) may require more credits per page.

How to Solve This Issue?

  1. Top Up Your Credits

  2. Ask the Sender to Resend the Fax

After you have enough credits, please contact the sender and ask them to resend the fax.

Note: Adding credits after seeing the “Out of credit” message will not recover the missed fax. The fax must be resent.

Common Misunderstanding

Many users believe that topping up credits after seeing the “Out of credit” message will allow them to receive the missed fax.

However, if you do not have enough credits at the time the fax arrives, the system will not accept the fax, and it cannot be recovered later.

How to Prevent?

  • Keep a Sufficient Credit Balance:

Regularly check your credit balance and top up before it runs low.

  • Inform Frequent Senders:

Let people who fax you regularly know to resend if they receive a delivery failure.

Summary

To receive faxes smoothly, always ensure you have enough credits in your account. If you miss a fax due to insufficient credits, top up and ask the sender to resend.
